the NBT (next big thing)
Moziah "Mo" Bridges is the 15-year-old CEO of Mo's Bows Handmade Bow Ties; a Memphis-based and family run business.
After trading bow ties for rocks on the school playground, Moziah's strong fashion sense led him to start his own company at the age of nine. With the help of his mother, and retired seamstress grandmother; Moziah began selling bow ties on his website (mosbowsmemphis.com) and in Memphis retail stores.
His colorful, handmade ties quickly made an impression on major networks, and the young fashion mogul made rounds on The Steve Harvey Show, The Today Show, Oprah Magazine, Good Morning America, and eventually, Shark Tank.
In addition to being featured in various international documentaries and publications, the teenage CEO took his fashion expertise to a new level in 2015. Moziah not only served as the fashion correspondent for the 2015 NBA Draft, he was also invited to the inaugural White House Demo Day, where he was able to personally meet President Barack Obama and gift him with the special "Obama Blue" Mo's Bow.
Shark Tank's Daymond John serves as Moziah's mentor as he continues to grow his business. Mo’s Bows has five employees, including the “CEO of Mo” a.k.a mom Tramica Morris, and granny; who taught Moziah how to sew. The business-minded teenager, who hand picks every fabric and approves every visual element, has sold more than $300,000 worth of bow ties and men’s accessories.
Mo’s Bows are sold in retails stores throughout the United States, and has been featured in Neiman Marcus, Cole Haan, Bloomingdale's and HSN.
In 2012, Moziah started “Go Mo!” a charity focused on sending Memphis children to summer camp.
Moziah plans to attend college at Parson's The New School for Design in New York City and have his own clothing line by the age of 20.
